Motorcycle Suspension Track Support

Precision Suspension Setup — Where It Matters Most

Your suspension is the connection between you and the road (or track).
At the track, small adjustments make a massive difference. Whether you’re shaving seconds off your lap time, chasing consistency through corners, or just want to feel confident on your first track day — suspension setup is the key.

Darkart Motosport offers full motorcycle suspension track support — bringing our expertise, tools, and experience directly to the circuit so you can stay focused on what you love: riding fast and riding well.

What Track Support Includes

Our race and track day support van attends major New Zealand track days and events throughout the year. We’re there to keep your suspension performing perfectly from the first lap to the last.

On-Site Trackside Services

  • Initial setup & baseline checks — preload, sag, rebound, and compression tailored to the circuit conditions
  • Real-time adjustments between sessions — fine-tuning for grip, balance, and rider confidence
  • Data-driven tuning — feedback from your laps helps us dial in the perfect setup
  • Suspension maintenance & inspection — quick checks for seals, oil leaks, and mechanical issues
  • Re-valving or spring changes (if needed) from our fully equipped support van

Race & Track Day Coverage
Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a seasoned racer, we’re there to provide the same level of precision and professionalism you’d find in an international paddock.

We regularly attend:

  • Public track days at Hampton Downs and Taupo.
  • Local and national race events
  • Private test days and rider coaching sessions

Who It’s For

  • Track day riders wanting expert setup and support without the guesswork
  • Racers chasing every tenth of a second
  • Teams or clubs needing dedicated suspension support for multiple riders
  • Coaching groups that want consistent setup for student bikes

No matter your level, you’ll benefit from having a professional suspension technician in your corner.

Why Track Support Matters

At the track, conditions change — tyres heat up, grip evolves, and your pace improves with each session. Suspension setup that felt great in the morning might feel vague by midday. That’s where on-the-day tuning support becomes invaluable.

We help you:

  • Stay in control as grip levels change
  • Find the sweet spot between comfort and corner speed
  • Identify handling issues early before they affect lap times
  • Maximise tyre life and performance
  • Build confidence with professional guidance

In short — we keep your bike dialled in all day, so you can focus on riding your best.

Why Choose Darkart Motosport

  • Decades of experience supporting national and international racing (including Supersport, WSBK, and BSB)
  • On-site race-ready tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Certified suspension technician for Öhlins, K-Tech, Matris, Nitron, Andreani and YSS systems
  • Transparent advice and rider education — we explain every change we make
  • Proven results — faster laps, more control, and greater rider confidence

FAQs

Which track days or events do you attend?

We regularly attend Hampton Downs and Taupo Motorsport Park track days, as well as national race rounds and selected private events. If you’d like support at a specific event, contact us early to confirm availability.

Do I need to book track support in advance?

Yes — our spots are limited per event so we can provide focused, one-on-one service. Booking ahead ensures we can prepare your setup notes, tools, and any spare parts needed for your bike.

Can you support multiple riders or teams?

Absolutely. We provide dedicated support for individual riders, race teams, or coaching groups. For group bookings, we’ll tailor a package to cover multiple bikes efficiently throughout the day.

What does on-site suspension support include?

We handle initial setup, sag and damping adjustments, between-session tuning, and diagnostics. We’ll monitor how your bike behaves through the day and make changes to match track temperature, grip levels, and rider feedback.

Do you offer advice or coaching on setup feedback?

Yes. We’ll walk you through each adjustment — explaining how and why the change affects handling. Our goal is to help riders understand their suspension, not just ride with it.

Can you service or rebuild suspension at the track?

We can perform minor maintenance and adjustments trackside (like oil level changes or seal inspections). Full rebuilds are completed at our Pukekohe workshop.

What should I bring on the day?

Bring your bike, riding gear, and pit setup (stand, fuel, etc.). We’ll handle all the suspension tools, equipment, and measurement systems.

Can you help if my suspension isn’t one of the big brands?

Yes — while we’re specialists in Öhlins, K-Tech, Matris, Nitron, Andreani and YSS, we can work with most OEM and aftermarket systems.

Will I notice a difference?

Yes — riders consistently report improved stability, grip, and confidence after proper track setup. Lap times usually drop as a natural result of better bike balance and feedback.

What Our Clients Say

Best suspension guy in the game. Leroy is the only man you should be getting advise from and getting your suspension serviced through. He really pulls out all the stops to ensure you get the best service and get the most out of your ride.

Luke Temple

Very good work. Have couple bikes that are completely different and different sized riders. Leroy helps you work through the problems by not changing to many things at once. Good steady progress leading to an excellent result. He even made Pukekohe smooth 🤣🤣

John Oliver

Leroy did a great job on the initial setup of my race bike, but the thing I really like about Leroy is how easy he is to talk to about the ongoing setup as I get faster .This has enabled me to get a better understanding of my suspension and I can now give him feedback on what my bike is doing.

Patrick Ansted

Top class guy, Leroy knows his stuff, very helpful with a professional background from BSB in UK. Don’t waste your time with dangerous so called Guru’s.

William Crosby

Love your work mate. Really helpful and always available. Well recommended. Thanks Leroy.

Fergus Maynes

Super kind and respectful. Leroy is a true man and got my bike to run for free very quickly. Definitely recommend this place.
